Africa: Working Together for Energy and Water-The Story of Msobomvu Community

Project 90 by 2030 is a non-profit organisation working with communities in Southern Africa to enhance energy and water security. They have been working with the community of Msobomvu since January 2012.

This video highlights one of the workshops held in Msobomvu, which subsequently resulted in a community decision to focus specifically on cooking and lighting needs for the immediate term. The first stage of rolling-out the chosen solutions will take place at the end of November 2012. Highly efficient cook-stoves and Wonderbags will be delivered by Project 90 staff and volunteers. An innovative solar home lighting kit (that also charges mobile phones) has been designed by Grey Green Engineering, and will be assembled and installed by the villagers themselves in January 2013.
