Earth hour has grown from a one-city initiative in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights, to the world’s largest campaign for the planet. The campaing uniting and encouraging hundreds of millions of people across 7001 cities and towns in 152 countries and territories to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour towards the end of March. Earth Hour 2013, 8:30 PM Saturday 23 March.
