Now in its sixth year, SIEW 2013 is a much-anticipated event in Asia’s energy calendar. SIEW is organised by the Singapore Energy Market Authority (EMA).

The theme “New Horizons in Energy” of the SIEW was announced at 27 March by the Energy Market Authority (EMA). The Energy Market Authority (EMA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Their main goals are to ensure a reliable and secure energy supply, promote effective competition in the energy market and develop a dynamic energy sector in Singapore.  Through their work, they seek to forge a progressive energy landscape for sustained growth.

Last year, some 11,000 delegates and 240 media journalists from more than 60 countries convened on SIEW, where the list of luminaries included global energy thought leaders Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister Of Energy, Green Technology And Water, Malaysia; Soulivong Daravong, Minister of Energy and Mines, Lao PDR; Maria van der Hoeven, Executive Director, International Energy Agency (IEA); and Jose Maria Figueres, Former President of Costa Rica.
