Siva Cycle, is a company which developed the ATOM, a bicycle generator and rechargeable battery pack designed to power virtually any electronic or mobile device via USB. Indicatively, it calculates for every two minutes cycling, the battery is charging an iPhone by 1%.
“Energy is a necessity in today’s world and to have enough for all devices is more than a convenience,” said the co-founder and CEO of Siva Cycle Dave Delcourt. “More than 1.5 billion people do not have sustainable access to energy and many of them depend on bicycles as the main means of transportation. We believe that the Atom will revolutionize cycling, but the lives of people around the world. ”
In search of resources that will help them get to the stage of production, the creators of the site turned Atom funding Kickstarter, featuring the first chargers at a price of 65 euros (compared with 85 euros, which will be the market price for them).
Indicative of the impact that has their idea is that only 24 hours after sending the call to the community site, had gathered almost 30,000 euros, or nearly half of the money demanded.
